Lazy Sunday

Hi Guys!

I have officially broken up for summer and I have so much free time on my hands that I thought i would write a post about how I like to spend my Sundays.

I don't know about everyone else but in my family Sunday is definitely the 'chill out' day of the week. I like to spend my Sundays binge watching Pretty Little Liars (which I am finally up to date with!) and pampering myself.

Here is me with my butterkist salted popcorn just about to watch The Back-Up Plan on netflix which I enjoyed alot!

I also have a very short attention span so I like to paint my nails whilst watching a movie so then they have time to dry and I won't smudge them!
The colour on my nails is Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in the colour Blueberry
Side Note: These nail varnishes are by far my favourite, they are so long lasting and leave a beautiful finish on the nails and they are only £3.99!

The weather has been gorgeous in England at the moment which a very rare occurence so I did pop outisde (also a rare occurence) and did some sunbathing and got burnt :(
I'm very much a night owl and I love staying up until ridiculous o'clock (usually 4am or 5am) and on this fine morning i watched the sunrise and the sky look absolutely beautiful (#nofilter).

So I end my day of with a traditional English roast dinner made specially by my Mum and then I ususally pop a lush bath bomb into my bath and pamper myself more!

Let me know how you guys like to spend you Sundays in the comments below!
I would love love love to hear from you

Bye <3

Zoella Beauty

Hey guys!

Firstly I'd really just like to say how proud I am of Zoe Sugg!

I have been watching Zoe's videos and reading her blog since she had just a fraction of the amount of subscribers she has today and I have truly loved watching her grow as a person and in the youtube community, she really is the Queen of Youtube right now.

Zoe is on top of her game and on the 29th of September 2014 it was the launch of her beauty products (which looked spectacular, you can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uCPHS6DfjE) that she has been working on over the past year.
I'm a firm believer of sticking to your true self and that is exactly what Zoe has achieved. Instead of bringing out a make up line or something that she didn't feel comfortable with, she decided cleverly to bring out a 'bath' range which I am completely in love with.

The Zoella Beauty line includes:

Creamy Madly Dreamy Body Lotion - £5

Soak Opera Bath Soak and Shower Cream - £5
Blissful Mistful Fragranced Body Mist - £8
Let's Glow Fragranced Candle - £5
Fizz Bar Fragranced Bath Fizzer - £5
Guinea Pig & Eyes Makeup Bag/ Pencil Case - £8

You can buy these at your local superdrug or online superdrug.co.uk and also feelunique.com

This link below will send you to Zoella.co.uk where you can see photos from Zoe's launch.

I'm a complete and utter bath person so this beauty range is perfect for me and I look forward to using every product!

Tumbling Head Over Heals for Tumblr

Hey :)

So recently I have gotten into Tumblr and I am officially addicted. It has replaced Twitter in my books and has now become my reason for staying up into the early hours of the morning and loosing vital sleep! (Not really selling it am I!)

If you have been living under a rock and haven't heard of Tumblr I will briefly explain; Tumblr is a group of blogs that post pictures, gifs and videos of basically everything! Everything you want to search for will 100% be on there from puppies to divergent quotes!

When I first joined Tumblr I found it extremely difficult to get my head around and to be honest I really disliked it and didn't understand the hype surround around it but as time went on I figured out how to work it and now I can't go an hour without scrolling through my dashboard.

To make your life a whole lot easier here are my top tips for Tumblr:

  • To start finding blogs to follow go to the search bar in the top right hand corner and type key words that you would like to explore such as 'Happy' or 'Cats' there will be millions of pictures that you will most probably spend hours scrolling through.
  • If you are a Twitter user you will know there is the 'ReTweet' and 'Favourite' button well on Tumblr it isn't much different there is the 'ReBlog' and '♥' So similarly to Twitter the Reblog button means you would like to post this to your blog and the  button means that you simply liked it and will be under ♥ your category.
  • Finally, just enjoy the randomness that is tumblr, allow yourself to get sucked into the wonderful world and let your self go!

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation Review

Hey! So I was extremely excited to see in my local Boots that Collection (formerly known as Collection 2000) that they had brought out a foundation to match their famous Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I was overwhelmed with excitement and jumped at the chance to buy it.

The foundation priced at £5.99 which is extremely cheap comes in 6 shades I am a mix between Porcelain and Fair so I do have to buy both and mix them which is annoying but I never seem to find my perfect match foundation. Unfortunately I don't think there are many shades which would match a deeper skin tone but hopefully in the future Collection will bring out more shades.

Overall I would say the foundation has a nice consistency and the coverage is really good although you do have to work quickly with blending as it sets quite quickly. The foundation can be slightly orange toned of fairer skin tones so what I tend to do is use a small amount and blend it out well to get a fairer colour.
The packaging is really nice, it comes in a glass bottle with a pump and isn't very heavy although like the collection concealers the black print writing does rub off after a while.

I can't wait to see what new productions Collection will bring out in the Summer.

Bye!

The Future

So I've been thinking about the future. All the possibilities that could happen. Mainly I've been thinking about career options as i'm getting to that age when everyone is asking you, 'What do you want to be when you grow up?'
The fantasy is to marry a Prince and live happily ever after but I know that, that only comes true in fairytales.

This week I took part in the Jack Petchey, 'Speak Out' workshop which truly terrified me as it was all about public speaking, which i'm most certainly not very good at. Anyway I gave it a good try and although I probably looked nervous and sounded even  more so I hope I got my message across.
My speech was about the future and how you shouldn't be rushed into a career than you really don't want to do. So here i'm now reiterating my point in a more non-nervous kind of way.

I think that a lot of people are persuaded into a career like becoming a lawyer or doctor purely for the amount of money they think they will earn but what I don't think they realise is that it is a LONG journey to get up to that level. I also think maybe (not always!) parents may disapprove of the career choice their child may want to chose, for example...

A girl with promising grades and high intellect wants to become a model but her parents are successful business people, they may say 'Oh you're much too smart to go into modelling, you could be a doctor'. I completely disagree with this scenario, now I know this isn't the case all the time but sometimes it is and that girl would go on in that career being miserable wishing she would have done what she wanted to do.

If you want to become a footballer, DO IT! If you want to design clothes, DO IT! If you enjoy something and want to spend the rest of your life doing it, then go ahead and do it!

I hope this ramble kind of got what I was saying.

Love you all,
Byeeeeeeeee

P.S. I know this isn't really beauty related but hey ho!

Introduction

The New Year had arrived and that means a change to set yourself a few challenges or targets to accomplish in 2014. This year I have decided to start up a blog as I have always wanted to and have expressed an interest in reading my idols like, Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter and Tanya Burr.

This is basically my introduction to my blog, Your Retreat To Beauty, I will be doing blogs based on beauty of course but maybe other things that I think would be interesting to read about.

To be honest, I'm not into computers so I don't really know quite what I'm doing on here, but i suppose there's a first time for everything?

Thanks for reading and stayed tuned <3
Byeeeeeee!
